11.30AM – 1PM | Instagram for Small Businesses

Maddy Duxbury, Founder, East Croydon Cool

Having built an Instagram following of nearly 10k local residents, this workshop will see the founder of East Croydon Cool share some tips and tricks for improving your account. From setting up, writing a bio and explaining the key features to providing ideas on what, when and how to post, the ‘Instagram for Small Businesses’ workshop will give local businesses a concise overview and a steer on how they can best use the platform to their advantage. The workshop includes a Q & A at the end and a competition to win the chance to be featured on the East Croydon Cool feed.

1.30PM – 3PM | Introduction to Social Media for Businesses

Julia Woolams, Angela Martin, Founders, 31 % Wool

Learn how to market your business effectively on social media with the founders of creative consultancy 31% Wool who also run cultural blog the Croydonist. You’ll get an overview of the main platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook) with insight into the strengths and weaknesses of each, how to choose the right platform for your creative business with tips on driving sales and how to create a basic social media campaign to support a launch. This workshop is designed for small businesses, creatives or enterprises who are new to using social media, but with a basic understanding of the platforms.

3.30PM – 5PM | The Art of Selling Online

Swakara Atwell-Bennett, Founder, BetterShared

Want to start selling more online? In this two-part workshop with BetterShared founder, Swakara you’ll discover how to sell both experiences and products online, plus use a tried and tested method to find new revenue streams. You’ll start by learning how to set up, host and market your own creative workshop online. Followed by marketing and sales techniques to help you start selling your products online too.

This event is organised by the London Borough of Croydon in partnership with the South Norwood Business Network. It is part of the South Norwood Regeneration Programme funded by the Mayor of London’s Good Growth Fund and Historic England.
