Parenting in a Digital World: free webinar series

Digital Awareness UK and Vodafone launch a series of free webinars for parents and carers to learn about how to survive and thrive online.

Keeping young people safe online has never been more important. Throughout this pandemic, we’ve seen all the wonderful benefits technology has to offer.

Unfortunately, online issues such as bullying, screen addiction, grooming and exposure to upsetting content have increased at an alarming rate. Research shows a 17% increase in online sex crimes against children (NSPCC) and that sexting among young people has increased by 183% (SafeToNet) during the pandemic.

That is why leading digital wellbeing organisation, Digital Awareness UK has teamed up with Vodafone UK to offer a free ‘Parenting in a Digital World’ webinar for their parents and carers, provided through schools. With support from groups such as Croydon Digital, Digital Awareness UK has been able to get support out to parents far and wide.

The 1-hour webinar talks through the latest apps and critical issues, providing plenty of practical tips and tools that will support all members of the family to have a more balanced and safe digital life. There are also some helpful supporting resources for parents available in multiple languages.

Through the limited series of events, Digital Awareness UK is reaching a diverse variety of schools and community groups in locations including (but not limited to) London, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, and Sussex.

If you know a school or organisation that you think would benefit from an online safety webinar for parents and carers, please contact Digital Awareness UK at info@digitalawarenessuk.com or share the online booking form.

The free webinar offer is available until Spring 2022.
