Community Fibre’s Digital Ambassadors are breaking the digital divide across London: get involved!
You can help isolated people to improve their digital literacy and stay connected, and boost your own skills in the process.
About Community Fibre
We’re London’s fastest 100% full fibre broadband, bringing faster broadband at a fairer price exclusively to Londoners and those who work in London. An important part of that is to provide fast internet access to those who need it most, unlocking opportunities for education, training, employment, social inclusion and community projects.
We aim to break the digital divide in our world class city. There’s no reason why everyone, whatever community they come from, can’t have equal access to the incredible opportunities the internet offers.
As part of our mission to bring better broadband to all Londoners, we provide free gigabit full fibre broadband to some of the community centres and libraries in the London boroughs we operate in. The hubs selected are the heart of community life. A free high-quality connection means that both work and leisure activities can happen seamlessly for the centre’s attendees.
So far, we have connected over 100 community centres across London, with lots more planned in the coming months. That means Gigafast internet accessible by everyone, bringing communities together for training, entertainment, social and digital inclusion.
The Digital Ambassador Programme
We also offer a free digital skills training programme to residents. Our digital training programme is partnered with Digital Unite and The Good Things Foundation and is run by our trained Digital Ambassadors. We onboard and train volunteers by helping them build their digital skills and confidence to provide the right support to local residents. We usually provide the training and support in person in connected community spaces, but due to the current situation, the service is provided remotely via Zoom sessions.
What we provide
During your training to become a Digital Ambassador, you will receive a Digital Unite Licence where you will be able to access CPD Accredited courses and download your certificates (on completion of the course).
You will also receive training follow up through regular Zoom sessions to help with the setup and identifying any specific needs, and a volunteer’s pack that includes programme guidelines and a Community Fibre branded T-shirt.
By becoming a Digital Ambassador, we can also provide a special discount if your home is connected to the Community Fibre network, if subscribed to one of our packages.

We’re always looking to recruit for our next set of Digital Ambassadors, and this is the perfect time to get involved, especially now when people need more online help than ever.
You must be confident with completing digital or online tasks, such as:
- explaining privacy and security
- email creation
- navigating websites
- online searches (such as Google and YouTube)
- online shopping
- money management
- tenancy management
- employment support
We are looking for people who are patient and are willing to volunteer their time to local residents when they need digital help and support. Volunteering has many rewards and with the Digital Ambassador role, we use the power of technology to help people improve their lives.
