Free digital inclusion workshops will help older Croydonites get online
RedDoor IT Ltd is pleased to be working in conjunction with Croydon Council to provide a series of Digital Inclusion Workshops aimed at over-65s.
Research shows that a high percentage of our older residents are either not using the internet anymore, or have never used it. This means hundreds of people in Croydon are not getting the benefits of the web: staying in touch with loved ones online, getting the weekly shop delivered, or sorting out bills with a quick click.
RedDoor IT provides fully managed proactive IT support services for local businesses in Croydon. We’ve teamed up with Croydon Digital Service to engage more of our older residents in the benefits of using the internet and educate them in the safest, most efficient way of doing this. We’ve got years of knowledge and experience about tech, and we want to share this with our community.
Our workshops will focus on assisting local residents to have the right access, skills, motivation and trust to be confident online and use a range of services. Our friendly expert IT team will be on hand to provide support to attendees and answer all questions. We’ll cover:
- getting online and staying safe whilst you’re there
- using email and how to set up your very own email account
- online shopping and online banking
- how to get the best from an online account with Croydon Council
Social media is a valuable and fun way to stay in touch with friends and family, and we’ll cover that too.
Workshops will last a couple of hours and take place at local libraries across the borough. Exact times and dates are to be confirmed – sign up for email notifications for more information!
