Event: Croydon Digital Talks future tech talent, 18 September 5pm to 7pm

The next event in our Croydon Digital Talks series takes place on Wednesday 18 September, 5pm to 7pm, hosted by Croydon College. Book now (for free).

The topic this time is “future tech talent”, and we’ve lined up 3 truly inspiring speakers who’ll be giving talks on the changing skills landscape, how employers and educators can prepare for what’s coming, and how tech itself is helping positively disrupt education:

Gi Fernando

Gi Fernando MBE is the founder of Freeformers, an organisation that specialises in changing how people think and work for the digital age.

Catherine Knivett

Catherine Knivett is Vice Chair of techUK’s Skills and Diversity Council and recent interim COO of the Corsham Institute, a non-profit focused on upskilling people for the digital economy.

Koby Yogaretnam

Koby Yogaretnam is Business and Investment Lead at UCL Educate, the leading European research and business accelerator for EdTech.

The talks will be followed by a panel discussion, chaired by Croydon Council’s Chief Digital Officer Neil Wiliams, on the subject of growing our local talent pipeline to address the needs of the tech community.

Panel members will include:

  • Karthi Velayutham, London director for Women Who Code
  • Kevin Standish, Principal, John Ruskin College
  • A representative of a Croydon tech business, tbc
