About ClearCommunityWeb

ClearCommunityWeb are a local social enterprise helping people feel more confident and comfortable with technology through classes, workshops and individual support in the home.

We primarily work with older people, vulnerable adults, and carers in South London, both directly and through our network of local partners.

Digital Drop-Ins

Our digital drop-ins provide a friendly space to get questions answered or problems solved for your laptop, tablet, or smart phone.

You can also practice in a supported environment and get access to other local learning programmes.

We understand that for many people technology can be overwhelming and so, making information as simple as possible can go a long way to giving people the confidence to become more independent in an informal setting.

These sessions are a chance for you to drop-in with your device, sit down with a member of our team to get help with a single issue or develop your skills.

Typical things we help with include:

  • Setting up accounts
  • Installing apps
  • Resetting passwords
  • Being safer online
  • Transferring files
  • Checking for problems
  • Starting at the beginning

If we are unable help on the day, we can refer you to our other drop-ins or central support programme.

Mobile Phone Boot Camps

Our Mobile Phone Boot Camps are a fun way to practice using a smart phone for beginners or to build confidence if you would like to know more!

We learn useful and practical things in small groups where we all learn something new, share experiences and meet new friends.

Each session there will be a variety of activities to try depending on number of people and the activities that people want to try.

We have upcoming dates at the Wellness Centre, central Croydon and the Family Centre, New Addington

You can find the full schedule of dates on our website.

Free 6-week course: Getting more from Google

Many of us use Gmail as our email address or have a smart phone set up to use Play services and download apps from there, but it is not always clear that these are both part of the same Google account.

There are many other features we can use and access within this account, such as creating playlists and uploading video to YouTube, creating letters and budgets with both Google Docs and Google Sheets.

Getting more from Google is designed to make this clearer for you and to help you choose what right for you and to help you be safer online and enjoy more things.
